Return to netball 2020
How will it look?
It is proposed that netball at STNA will begin on 22 July 2020 and conclude with the grand final on 26th September 2020.
The season will consist of 8 rounds only, followed by 2 weeks of knockout finals (1 v 4 and 2 v 3 - winner of both play in the grand final).
In line with the restrictions applied by Communities, Sports & Recreation, and in conjunction with Netball Tasmania, there will only be 30 people allowed at each game during stage 3 (from 13 July), that is:
2 x teams of 10
2 x coaches for each team (4)
2 x umpires
2 x scorers (1 provided by each team)
2 x team managers (1 for each team)
Spectators will not be allowed until stage 4 (date unknown at this stage).
Games will be staggered to avoid contact with other teams between games.
Hand sanitiser will be used before, during & after the games with equipment (balls etc) also sanitised before, during and after games.
Children/players will not be able to arrive early or stay later after their game, they will need to be dropped outside the gates and picked up outside the gates - no spectators, parents, guardians or otherwise will be allowed inside.
STNA and Clubs will work with parents to ensure the safety of their child and ensure that they are picked up/dropped off to parents and not left unattended.
These conditions will apply at training as well.
What do you think?
We need to know the intention of every member.
Are you happy to commit to play under the new guidelines in 2020? Or are you not comfortable and won’t return to Club netball this year?
If you do intend to play, you will need to comply and understand the return to play rules as set out by Netball Tasmania at https://tas.netball.com.au/return-to-netball - and acknowledge that in the form below.
Once we know everyone’s intention we can confirm if there will be any refund on fees paid, etc.
We will need some time to plan how returning can occur in terms of player numbers, so we ask that you complete this form by 5pm Sunday 7th June.
